Note to future conference chairs: December 31st may sound like a fantastic and obvious deadline. Don’t do it. Everyone is incredibly busy the last two weeks of the year and no one has time to think about a submission. Pick a time when people are free to ponder, something open like, oh, say, Sunday the 9th of January.

Lesson learned. New submission deadline for casitconf’11 is: Midnight (PST), the night of Sunday, 9 JAN, 2011.

At last night’s meeting, per our meeting announcement, we voted on becoming an official chapter of LOPSA, the League of Professional System Administrators.

The vote was 12 for, 0 against, 1 abstain. Therefore, the motion carried and we will begin the process of becoming an official chapter of LOPSA. Watch this space (or come to our meetings) for additional details.

This month we will be voting to decide if SASAG will become a local chapter of LOPSA. All attendees of the meeting will be eligible to vote.

Afterwards, we will hear from attendees of the LISA ’10 conference things they thought were noteworthy and that the rest of us might want to look into.
